Our goal is to turn the oldest drink in the world into the world’s new favourite drink. Simple as that!
Mead is arguably the oldest alcoholic drink in the world, dating back thousands of years. The base ingredients are simply water, honey and yeast - but add a little craft and creativity and you’ll end up with pure magic.
The first GALDR mead is here!
Our first product is a braggot named Jatnagarður. The name is inspired by Jøtunheimur, the home of the giants in Norse myth. These Norse giants drank beer rather than mead, which was reserved for the gods of Asgard. Our braggot Jatnagarður brings together the best of both worlds in a magical drink which is best enjoyed cold.
Jatnagarður has a fruity and floral aroma and it has a light body with lots of honey and malty flavours with some caramel mixed in as well. It is best served cold and of course it goes great with the Faroese cuisine!

GALDR is a small company started by three friends who all grew up in Sandavágur in the Faroe Islands.
GALDR is Old Norse for magic,
